Time for some real talk: for too long, travel has been seen by most people as something we're supposed to do with a partner — a romantic getaway, a couple's trip, or a fun getaway with your besties. But waiting until you have someone to travel with can mean putting your dreams on hold, sometimes indefinitely. I know, because I've done it in my own life. But the truth is, we don’t need a relationship (or even a friend) take along on a trip, cruise, or exploring a new city. Some of the most memorable adventures happen when you step outside your comfort zone and just go.

Me, Travel Alone? Really?

Look, I get it - for many people (and not just women), even going to a restaurant alone is anxiety-inducing, much less taking a whole trip by yourself. But traveling solo can be empowering, exciting, and even life-changing; it gives you the freedom to do exactly what you want, when you want. So to all the women out there, I say this: life doesn’t have to pause just because you’re single, and your bucket list shouldn’t have to wait for someone else to catch up.

That said, however, safety and comfort are are still valid concerns when choosing where you want to go. So to help you plan your next adventure, I've created a list of five destinations that combine safety, inspiration, and plenty of opportunities for women to have great solo adventures.
